One weekend. Three great races. It's Cranberry Trifest!
Cranberry Trifest offers a terrific weekend of racing including a sprint distance triathlon, a kids duathlon and the "classic" olympic distance triathlon which has been selected as the 2010 USAT Northeast Regional Club Championship. The sprint will be on Saturday, August 28, 2010 and will consist of a 0.5 mile swim, a 12 mile bike, and a 3.1 mile run starting at 9:00AM. The kids duathlon will be a 1km run-2km bike-1km run and will follow the sprint. The olympic distance triathlon (0.8 mile swim/24.9 mile bike/6.2 mile run) will be on Sunday, August 29, 2010. The Cranberry olympic has sold out the each of the last 5 years and the inaugural sprint sold out in 2009. Don't miss out in 2010... REGISTER EARLY! Click here to register now for the sprint or olympic and click here to register for the kids' duathlon.
Cranberry Trifest promises you safe and scenic races and a festive atmosphere with a DJ, valuable giveaways, post-race refreshments after each race (including a fabulous BBQ after ther olympic) and a venue that lets you sit back with friends as the 2010 multisport season nears a close. This year we'll also be crowning the inaugural King and Queen of Cranberry (details on the "Event Details" page). If you've got kids its a great venue for bringing them... when the rest of the family isn't cheering on Mom or Dad, they can enjoy the playground, toss a ball or frisbee around on the baseball fields, or practice their "ollie" at the skateboard park. Or they can do the kids duathlon!
Consider participating in the Cranberry Sprint or Olympic distance races on behalf of the American Cancer Society! Join the DetermiNation program and make your miles more meaningful by dedicating your efforts to the fight against cancer. In return for a low fundraising commitment, athletes will receive many benefits, including a full group training program. Click here to visit the website to learn more and register today!
Sun Multisport Events has made a commitment to implement more environmentally responsible practices at our events. To that end, we have taken the Pledge of Sustainability administered by Athletes for a Fit Planet. As part of this committment we will implement a comprehensive recycling system, the use of eco-friendly port-o-potties, the use of plates and utencils for our post-race BBQ that are made of bio-degradable products, athlete t-shirts made of recycled material and more. This is just a start... creating more sustainable events is our long term goal.
